Boxing training with Youssef Afkir
Keep Learning

A new encounter.
The same passion.

After more than thirty years devoted to Ving Tsun, some might think there is nothing left to learn. I believe exactly the opposite.

2025 — Afkir Pugilat Team

An encounter that opens a new chapter.

In 2025, I met Youssef Afkir, head coach of Afkir Pugilat Team.

His way of teaching and sharing his vast knowledge with sincerity and heart moved me immediately. He made me want to push beyond my limits once again.

Our exchanges go far beyond sport: we share deep philosophical discussions and genuine moments of humanity.

Another discipline, the same spirit

Transmission recognises transmission.

Youssef strongly reminds me of my Sifu: the same passion, the same generosity in sharing knowledge, the same teaching approach and the same state of mind.

Some encounters simply seem written in the stars.

Through him, I rediscovered the spirit of Pugilat and immersed myself in it with complete intensity. Every training session became a fight against my own limits. Each session works simultaneously on the body, the mind and the character.

Ving Tsun and Pugilat

Two disciplines that enrich one another.

And no, this commitment to Pugilat does not take me away from Wing Chun. Quite the opposite.

Ving Tsun has become part of who I am, just as Pugilat has today.

The further I progress, the more I discover how strongly these two disciplines complement one another. They feed each other and form a whole of remarkable richness and effectiveness.

Many people think that learning a new discipline means abandoning the previous one.

My experience has taught me exactly the opposite.

The more I progress in Pugilat, the more I understand certain subtleties of Ving Tsun. And the more I understand Ving Tsun, the more calmly I approach Pugilat.

“We stop progressing the day we believe we no longer need to learn.”
The men who shaped my path

Transmission takes different forms.
It never stops.

Tang Shun Ping

The one who passed on a legacy to me and enabled me to understand its depth.

Tang Hau Min

My Sifu, my spiritual father, the one who taught me how to keep this legacy alive.

Youssef Afkir

The one who reminds me that a practitioner is never finished learning.

Three men. One shared philosophy.

Each of them marked an essential stage in my journey. Even today, each continues to nourish my thinking, enrich my practice and remind me that a true practitioner is never finished learning.

Thanks to them, I continue every day to learn, evolve and question my certainties. In martial arts, the greatest danger is believing that we have reached the end of the path.

A true practitioner remains a student throughout life.

Thank you to those who showed me the way. I hope, in turn, to be able to light it for others.
